With the departure of Xavier Parent, the Sherbrooke Phoenix had to find a new captain for the upcoming season.
While many believed that Joshua Roy would get the job, management decided otherwise.
At the team's golf tournament last Thursday, general manager and head coach Stéphane Julien announced that Kaylen Gauthier will become the Phoenix's new captain. Roy will be an assistant, along with Tyson Hinds and Anthony Munroe-Boucher.
Gauthier, a 20-year-old native of Drummondville, is the son of former NHL defenceman Denis Gauthier.
