It's been a rough year for San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane, with reports of his large debts, his bankruptcy filing, public marital issues, and accusations of game-fixing and the player betting on his own games.
His legal team advised him not to publicly address Anna Kane's serious allegations on social media, but he ignored it, making matters worse for himself while Mrs. Kane continued to slam her estranged husband for several days.
Following the allegations, reports surfaced that several San Jose players preferred Kane be traded rather than return with the Sharks next season.
On Tuesday, Kane made a subtle statement by posting a photo to Twitter of himself dressed in San Jose Sharks gear, preparing for a skate.
Is this a hint that Kane will return to the Sharks next season? It certainly appears so.
Several former teammates and colleagues confirmed that while Kane enjoyed betting on basketball and football, he had never openly bet on hockey.
If Kane is comfortable enough to dress up and post the Sharks logo on social media, he may not be concerned about the ongoing investigation into gambling and match-fixing allegations, possibly because his wife's claims are unfounded. Time will tell.
