Jonathan Huberdeau has not produced as much as he had hoped since joining the Calgary Flames. He has only 24 points, including 6 goals in 32 games.
Huberdeau clearly does not have a good relationship with his head coach, Darryl Sutter.
In Thursday's overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings, the Flames head coach was very upset with Huberdeau for choosing to pass the puck instead of taking a shot at safety.
The only thing you'd want back is to be able to shoot in overtime," he said. They're leading scorer, he shot it into the net." - Darryl Sutter
"I think you noticed that. I have to take the shot. It's always been like that. I have to shoot. Obviously, I'm trying to make a pass for an empty net for the other guy, but I have to keep the game simple and shoot for the goal." - Jonathan Huberdeau
Huberdeau is a passer, so he acted instinctively in making a pass.
It remains to be seen if he'll regain the airs of the player he was last year, when he put up 115 points.
