Not exactly shocking that it relates to the Toronto Maple Leafs, given the title of this article, but I digress..
On Tuesday, a video surfaced from a fish market in Seattle featuring Kevin Weekes and film crew dropping takes of the Kraken's pick from the Leafs' roster. See the video below to find out who it is!
Bonus points to Seattle here, they sure know their market! What a fun reveal that was. Now, we can't be 100% certain that Alexander Kerfoot will be the player taken by the Kraken, because, well, they could have just as easily shot a few different versions of this video featuring different players.
I tend to think that where there's smoke, there's fire. Kerfoot was already rumoured to have drawn interest from Seattle. The Kraken have also hired former Leafs assistant coach Dave Hakstol as the first coach in franchise history. An interesting detail to note is that Hakstol ran the penalty kill in Toronto last season and that Kerfoot was his primary PK center.
Kerfoot is an educated, intelligent player having graduated from the prestigious Harvard University, and if recency bias plays a factor, Kerfoot just put up 7 points in 7 games against the Canadiens in the playoffs - so we know he can contribute in the postseason.
I could see this being a legit leak, but I suppose we won't know for sure until Wednesday after 8pm ET.
