Granted, there are several players that may interest the Kings to date. However, the price of acquiring top-6 players can dampen a team's enthusiasm. Jonathan Drouin has shown that he can play on one of the top two lines of an NHL team, but consistency will be required.
With all the young prospects in the organization, they have some interesting players to attract established talented players to the Bettman Tour. Certainly, quality hopes and draft picks can be an interesting bargaining chip for Marc Bergevin if he wants to trade Jonathan Drouin. However, you should not expect to receive a high quality striker for him.
The Los Angeles Kings have also expressed interest in the highly publicized Jack Eichel case. The Buffalo Sabers star wants to leave this city and the Kings are one of the two clubs often cited in the record, as are the Anaheim Ducks. The hopes and draft picks of both teams can be very attractive.
Far from having the same value as Jack Eichel, Jonathan Drouin could however be an interesting reconciliation prize for a team looking for a playmaker to feed a natural scorer. Certainly, Jack Eichel is a sniper, which is not the case with Jonathan Drouin. These recent issues off the ice leave a lot of questions for a club willing to invest to win now
