Maple Leafs on the verge of trading a defenseman
According to Elliotte Friedman, Kyle Dubas may be considering moving one of their defensemen in order to give more opportunity to Sandin.
"Sandin, he needs a new contract and Toronto doesn't have a lot of space," Friedman said. "I think that they like him as a player, I think he's enjoyed being a Maple Leaf and I don't believe he's asked for a trade or anything like that. But, I've had a couple of people say to me, watch where this goes in terms of does Toronto feel they have to create room for him? Is he concerned about his spot and also is there a deal here that makes sense? With Giordano now being signed, they now have five lefties. Brodie plays the weak side, I'm just including him in cause I know someone would say, �Hey, Brodie's a lefty, you idiot.' There's Muzzin, there's Giordano, there's Reilly, there's Sandin."
It looks like Justin Holl is the odd man out.
