The NHL plans to punish unvaccinated players more harshly if they test positive for the coronavirus as part of protocols for the upcoming season.
Unvaccinated players could be suspended without pay if they cannot participate in hockey activities.
The new rules for 2021-22 were announced this week by Sportsnet Canada. The impact of the US-Canada border crossing is unknown.
Between 90-95% players will be fully vaccinated before season opener.
