Patrik Laine has been granted a personal leave of absence from the Columbus Blue Jackets so he can return home to Finland and be with his family through their grief.
Laine died suddenly last month while his son Patrik was in America with the Blue Jackets. Laine hadn't been home since his father's death late last month. The news today allows him to mourn peacefully at home with his mother Tuija and sister Pinja.
Hope he recovers from this and come back better than ever!
