Pittsburgh Penguins Gm Ron Hextall looking to Re-Sign two franchise players

The Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager is looking to keep his core on lock, trying to re-sign Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin and defenceman Kris Latang.
This comes after GM Ron Hextall gave a two year $6.25 million dollar contract extension to Jeff Carter.
Evgeni Malkin is in the final year of his current contract that pays him $9.5 million dollars annually. Malkin is 35, he was drafted 2nd overall in 2005. Malkin has 428 goals, 686 assists, for a total of 1,114 points in 949 games with the Penguins.
Kris Letang also is in the final year of his current contract that pays him $7,250,000 dollars annually. Kris Letang is 34, he was drafted 62nd overall in the 3rd round of the 2005 NHL draft. Letang has 139 goals, 481 assists, for a total of 620 points in 902 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
