Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said the federal government could step in and create a new national organization to replace Hockey Canada.
Speaking in Ottawa today, Trudeau told reporters that the government is not in the business of creating organizations, but added that the federation has "completely lost the confidence of Canadians.
Trudeau said Hockey Canada officials need to understand that a new organization can be created, that it could be called Canada Hockey and get rid of Hockey Canada.
According to the Prime Minister, it is inconceivable that an organization such as Hockey Canada is so intent on keeping its leaders in place when there are plenty of competent people to replace them.
