With the pandemic in full swing, the vaccination going very well and the number of hospitalized people decreasing, the Quebec government is about to give the green light to Geoff Molson to welcome up to 10,500 spectators in the Bell Centre for the final.
The pressure exerted by Geoff Molson and the Montreal Canadiens to compete on equal terms during the first Stanley Cup Final in 28 years since the Sainte-Flanelle's last conquest in 1993 finally paid off.
In addition to opening its doors to three times as many fans for the games, the Montreal organization would also open up access to the Bell Centre to broadcast the games on the giant screen. The club had done something like this in 2014 when the CH had advanced to the semi-finals. It was possible to watch the game on the giant screen live from the Bell Center during the clash of the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers on the side of Madison Square Garden.
Probably the number of fans will also be around 10,500 for the broadcast of this final series. It remains to be seen how much the tickets will cost to watch the games on the giant screen. An email sent to the Bell Center employees has even been leaked to the media.
