Mournful messages posted in support of the 21-year-old hockey player

Grasdal's former team, the Nipawin Hawks, took to twitter to mourn the former player.

Grasdal was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and the city also sent out a mournful post.

He was also a past member of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, as he played with the Portage Terriers for two seasons between 2020 and 2022. The league sent out a message of condolences.

A tragic loss for all

There are unverifiable reports on some "news websites" that are likely more of the click-bait variety, that say this tragic event happened in the Dominican Republic, alcohol was involved, and that it was self inflicted. These reports cannot be considered to be accurate information as the websites that publish these also have disclaimers that read:

"[This site] does not make any warranties about the completeness, reliability and accuracy of this information."

It is best to ignore these reports and wait for any reliable, and confirm-able, information to be released.

We send our sincere condolences and prayers to his friends and family in this difficult time.
