The Montreal Canadiens have an absolutely exceptional player in their prospect pool. He is breaking all records in his league, producing at a rate not seen in over 25 years.
I'm talking about Lane Hutson.
Week in and week out, Hutson is taking his game to the next level as he continues to build on the momentum he has had all season. So far, he has six goals and 14 points in 12 NCAA games.
Although the 18-year-old small back is not playing for a powerhouse and even though he is playing on the second pair of defense, as well as the second wave of the power play, Hutson is producing at a rate never before seen in American college.
He currently has more offensive production than Adam Fox and already has more goals than Quinn Hughes in his post-draft year.
Let's face it, this young defenseman is really special and a gem in the organization's prospect pool.
