Last night, a shocking announcement was made as Montreal Canadiens fans learned that star goaltender Carey Price has agreed to waive his no-movement clause.
Furthermore, it seems that the Seattle Kraken is very much in favor of acquiring him via the expansion draft.
To make sense of this whole mess, some have theorized that the Habs are trying to save money on Price's contract by asking the Kraken to withhold some money in exchange for a pick. So, according to them, the Kraken would acquire Price and return him to the Habs in return for picks and salary retention.
However, journalist Pierre LeBrun confirmed that the NHL has forbidden this to happen.
So, the Habs would not be allowed to make such a move.
Now, it remains to be seen which Hab player will be selected by the Kraken this Wednesday.
