According to the reputable Nick Kypreos, the Florida Panthers would be interested in trading goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, but more importantly, they would be willing to retain 50% of his salary.
The Russian earns $10M until 2025-2026... The Panthers should therefore keep $5M per year, for three more seasons. That's huge! They really want to get rid of him...
By the way, Sammi Silber of Washington Hockey suggested that the Capitals should acquire him, since Samsonov or Vanecek should leave the team this summer.
In 54 games last season, Bobrovsky had a good campaign, with a goals-against-average of 2.67 and a save percentage of .913.
