After hearing that the Canadiens had their 3 man race for the Canadiens general manager job, it's believed that Danny Briere was going to be named the next General Manager for the Canadiens.
After multiple hockey insiders and reporters believe Kent Hughes wasn't the 1st decision.
It's rumored the Philadelphia Flyers had a hand in this decision but what one source saying the Flyers "blocked Briere" from the Habs because the Flyers want to keep him I'm their organization and have some plans for Briere quite possibly maybe becoming the Flyers General Manager.
Briere had an outstanding NHL career most notably with the Flyers he's still currently the GM of the Flyers ECHL affiliate Maine Mariners.
No doubt Canadiens fans are excited to see what new general manager Kent Hughes can do, how cool would it of been with Danny Briere as the Canadiens GM? Maybe one day.
