Three Young NHLers Shockingly Leave the League for Europe
In a somewhat surprising turn of events today, three young hockey players have signed contracts with European teams, leaving behind their respective NHL franchises.
The first player is Connor Bunnaman, a 4th round pick from the 2016 draft who has more than 50 NHL games under his belt.
The next is Aidan Dudas, a shining star with the LA Kings' AHL affiliate last season and a former member of the Canadian 2020 World Juniors team.
Lastly, 27-year-old Bobby Nardella has inked a deal with HV71, a Swedish team also home to top prospect Oscar Fisker-Molgaard.
European signings today:
#FlaPanthers UFA Connor Bunnaman joins Kärpät (Finland)
#LAKings UFA Aidan Dudas signs with TPS (Finland)
#Caps UFA Bobby Nardella aligns with HV71 (Sweden)
Though none of these players were slated to become superstars, it's still disheartening to see them veer away from their NHL dreams. Maybe one day one of them will come back to this side of the Atlantic.
