According to what Marco D'Amico of Montreal Hockey Now reports, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen's name has begun to pop up again in trade talks around the league, despite the uncertainty in front of the CH net as to whether or not Carey Price will return to action.
A source told Marco D'Amico:
"I'm hearing more from Jake Allen. The Stars or the Coyotes make sense. Both teams have looked at him in the past, I know," the source told Montreal Hockey Now. Depending on what happens with Price, it could make a lot of sense for them and the Canadiens. Let's say Carey is ready to go or close to it by the time the season starts. So if [Jake] Oettinger hasn't been signed by then or if he's holding out during camp, do you take the risk of Scott Wedgewood and a player called up being your goalies to start the season if you think you're a contender this year?"
In summary, it's all going to depend on Carey Price's health, but Allen is reportedly officially on the market.
