Barclay Goodrow waiver claim reportedly reunites him with his former team
Today new reports are flooding in the New York Rangers forward Barclay Goodrow who was placed on waivers earlier today and is expected to be claimed tomorrow.
Multiple sources are coming forward tonight with information regarding Barclay Goodrow changing teams via a waiver claim. According to these sources, Barclay Goodrow's former team the San Jose Sharks are expected to be the team to claim him.
«By placing Barclay Goodrow on waivers, #NYR allow themselves some cap flexibility no matter what happens.
Though there is belief there is a pre-arranged deal for the #SJSharks to claim Goodrow, who spent the first six seasons of his NHL career in San Jose.»
According to Mollie Walker of the NY Post, there is a belief that the San Jose Sharks and the New York Rangers had an agreement in place regarding F Barclay Goodrow prior to him being placed on waivers, which would be the Sharks claiming him and relieving the Rangers of the final three years of his contract.
This would allow Barclay Goodrow to get a fresh start with a new team that could use talent and leadership like the San Jose Sharks. In return, the New York Rangers get salary cap relief. It remains to be seen if this is part of a bigger move on the side of either team.
Once more information is confirmed to bring context to this move we will pass it along to you.
