Today it has been announced via social media that former professional hockey player Tony Voce has passed away at the age of 43.
Tony Voce's hockey career was one of determination and love for the game. He began his high-level hockey career playing for Boston College in the NCAA. After leaving Boston College Tony Voce was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Philadelphia Flyers.
He would go on to play 3 seasons in the AHL with the Philadelphia Phantoms and the Grand Rapids Griffins. During that stretch, he would win a Calder Cup Championship in 2005.
After leaving the AHL he would head over and play in Europe for 2 seasons before spending one final season back in North American in the ECHL with the Ontario Reign.
Our condolences go out to Tony Voce's family, friends, coaches, and teammates during such a difficult time.
