Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took shots at Gary Bettman during today's WNBA press conference in Toronto.
Today the WNBA announced that they would be expanding to Toronto in 2026 introducing their very first international franchise.
It's official, Toronto is #UpNext 🇨🇦 Tune-in now to hear Commissioner Engelbert's remarks live on WNBA App, X, YouTube or NBA TV. Tips off in 2026.
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert was in attendance to speak on the expansion franchise alongside Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
When Trudeau took to the stage, he poked fun at NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman poking fun at his height.
"WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, thank you so much Cathy for all of your leadership, for being here today. You're much taller than Gary Bettman." - Justin Trudeau
Engelbert stands at 5'9" while Bettman stands at 5'7" making Engelbert the taller commissioner.
Both will now be working with Trudeau moving forward as the WNBA continues to expand and the NHL hopefully expands to new Canadian cities such as Quebec City or Hamilton.
