Seattle Kraken reportedly set to add Jessica Campbell to NHL coaching staff
According to a new report, the Seattle Kraken are reportedly considering to promote Jessica Campbell as their assistant-coach, breaking another barrier in the NHL.
The Seattle Kraken head coach Dan Bylsma told the reporters this morning that Jessica Campbell will be considered to get a position in the Kraken's coaching staff.
Per Chris Johnston:
"New #SeaKraken head coach Dan Bylsma tells reporters in Seattle that Jessica Campbell will be considered for a job on his coaching staff.
There's never been a full-time female assistant coach in the NHL before."
Bylsma was promoted as the Kraken's head coach this morning, and he didn't hide his intentions to bring the Firebirds' assistant-coach with him in Seattle.
Back in October, Campbell was behind the bench during a Kraken's preseason game, joining Kori Cheverie, who worked with the Pittsburgh Penguins, as the first women to work behind a NHL bench.
As of now, Campbell and Bylsma are both working with the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the AHL as they prepare to play the first game of the Western Conference Finals, on Wednesday, against the Milwaukee Admirals.
Campbell could become the first one to get a full-time job as an assistant-coach in the NHL, breaking another barrier in the sport.
