Kyle Dubas' Biggest Roadblock in an Erik Karlsson Trade is Now Known
In a trade that occurred between the Canadiens and the Penguins last summer, Jeff Petry was sent to Pittsburgh. It now appears that was a good move for the Canadiens.
Petry Causing Problems
It has now been reported that Petry's disinterest in being traded to San Jose is blocking Kyle Dubas from getting Erik Karlsson. Petry cites his family's need to be close to Michigan, the California tax implications, and other personal reasons for not wanting to go to the Sharks.
Penguins Exploring Options
With Petry stalling the deal, it may be time for Dubas to look elsewhere on the roster for a potential trade for Karlsson. Recent reports have stated that the Sharks have a potential interest in Marcus Pettersson, but Dubas has withheld his name from the conversation.
With the time ticking off the Karlsson clock, it may be time for Dubas to cave and offer a deal that includes Pettersson.
