Recent Stanley Cup champion Jonathan Marchessault is heading into his 11th season in the NHL. He has spent the last several years with the Vegas Golden Knights where he has blossomed into a star-level forward. He is getting older, and Vegas could be looking to get something for him before it is too late.
While it is difficult to know the exact value of a player there is always the ability to dream up a trade scenario based around Marchessault to Boston. The deal would be interesting as Vegas is still trying to contend as well. Normally a prospects and picks combo would be the likely answer. However, in this scenario players on team-friendly deals or young roster players may be the price Boston would have to pay. Potentially even one of the Bruins' top two goaltending tandem could need to be a part of a potential deal.
