Rasmus Sandin Sets New Team Record Following Trade
The NHL season always brings its fair share of surprises, but few moves were as unexpected as the Toronto Maple Leafs trading defenseman Rasmus Sandin to the Washington Capitals.
Sandin had been a top prospect for the Leafs and had started to establish himself as one of their most reliable defenders.
The Leafs made the bold decision to part ways with him in exchange for veteran defenseman Erik Gustafsson and a 1st round draft pick.
Only two games in with his new team, Sandin is already breaking franchise records in Washington!
Sandin had already proven himself to be a skilled and promising player, recording four goals and 20 points in just 52 games played with the Leafs this season. But in just two games with the Capitals, Sandin has already made a significant impact, scoring five points and setting a new team record as the first defenseman to achieve this feat in his first two games.
