Anaheim Ducks acquire defenseman Brian Dumoulin from the Seattle Kraken
The Anaheim Ducks and Seattle Kraken have finalized a trade, with Anaheim acquiring defenseman Brian Dumoulin from Seattle in exchange for a 2026 fourth round pick.
Dumoulin is a two-time NHL Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins, winning in back to back season in 2016 and 2017. He spent the first 10 seasons of his career in Pittsburgh with before signing with the Seattle Kraken last season.
His contract, signed for two years, currently runs until next season at $3.15M annually. Dumoulin also had a amodified No-Trade Clause (M-NTC).
In the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Dumoulin was selected in the second round by the Carolina Hurricanes, 51st overall. Dumoulin spent his collegiate career with the Boston College Eagles before being traded without playing an NHL game for Carolina in 2012, dealt in a package deal that sent Jordan Staal to the Hurricanes to play with brother Eric.
Dumoulin, 32, had 6 goals, 10 assists & 16 points in 80 games this past season for Seattle. In 626 career NHL games in 11 NHL seasons, Dumoulin had 25 goals, 130 assists & 155 points in 626 career games played, along with in the playoffs 4 goals, 21 assists & 25 points in 81 games.
