Martin Nevas made his presence known this year with the Carolina Hurricanes. After pulling 24 goals and 53 points across 77 games in the regular season, the 25-year-old forward also accomplished 4 goals and 9 points in 11 playoff games.
However, despite his value on the team, it looks like Necas will be on the block. The Canes forward has been in countless trade speculations over the last week, including the Calgary Flames and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
However, Darren Dreger of the Daily Faceoff had another team on the list of those looking to trade for Necas: the Montreal Canadiens. Dreger alleges that the young forward's bold style of play is exactly what Kent Hughes is looking for on the roster.
Moreover, Frank Seravlli added this trade will likely decided before the start of the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday.
With the Stanley Cup Finals starting on June 8th, we will likely hear the final deal for Carolina forward Martin Necas. However, it could be until then we know if they pull off a deal for the Montreal Canadiens. If they want to end their streak of being at the bottom of the league, this player could be exactly what they are looking for.
