The AHL is a great mix of old-fashioned aggressive hockey and genuine skill.
The grit that goes on wouldn't fly in the NHL, but the intelligence demonstrated couldn't be found in the ECHL or any other lesser league.
In a game between the Manitoba Moose and the Calgary Wranglers, 6'3» Tyrel Bauer dropped the gloves with 6'7» Adam Klapka. They combined for one of the best fights of the year.
