It was announced today that the Arizona Coyotes placed Alex Galchenyuk on unconditional waivers with the purpose of contract termination.
Galchenyuk's Termination
It was unknown why the Coyotes did terminate the 29-year-old forward but according to an NHL source an "off-ice" situation had been brought to light.
Galchenyuk has been on the Coyotes before and looked like back on July 1st that he was going to making a return to the Coyotes.
Galchenyuk's Career
Galchenyuk was drafted 3rd overall by the Montreal Canadiens and had one year where he scored 30 goals and 56 points and it looked like he was going to be a star in the NHL.
However, Galchenyuk has not been able to hit the 30-goal mark since 2015-16, he has bounced around the league since then playing for Arizona, Montreal, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Ottawa, Minnesota Colorado and Carolina where he did not even play a game for the squad.
The future of Galchenyuk's NHL career is yet to be known.
