Keefe Voted As 5th Most Likely Coach To Be Fired
The Maple Leafs are entering one of the most pivotal years in franchise history. It is the last year of Auston Matthews' and William Nylander's contracts and this potentially being the final year of their championship window with the core four.
With this, fans are speculating on which head coach is most likely to be fired next. A vote on the topic with the prompt "Which head coach will be fired next?" has emerged and Keefe's placement on the list is quite alarming.
The top five consists of DJ Smith, Craig Berube, Rick Bowness, John Tortorella, and Keefe.
Comparing the other coached teams to the Leafs, they are far worse than the Leafs. The Leafs finished with 111 total points last year. The Senators had 86, the Blues had 81, the Jets had 95, and the Flyers had 75.
To say that the situations are different would be an understatement.
With Keefe on the hot seat, we could see a mid-season change if the Leafs sit outside of a playoff position or go on a prolonged losing streak. However, only a 6.5% chance of him being fired is higher than expected.
