Coyotes fans make request to Oilers fans for season finale
The Arizona Coyotes have a special request for Edmonton Oilers fans heading to the Mullet Arena for their franchise finale against the Edmonton Oilers. It's going to be a bittersweet night as the Coyotes bid farewell to the dessert for good as the team will relocate to Salt Lake City, Utah for the 2024-25 season.
In a Reddit post, a Coyotes fan reached out to Oilers supporters, asking them to join in a whiteout at the game. The idea is for everyone to wear white jerseys or gear to create a memorable send-off for the Coyotes in their last NHL contest in Arizona.
Plea to visiting Oilers fans in Arizona on Wednesday - Wear White if Possible. Good Afternoon Oilers family, visiting Yotes fan here.
We are attempting to organize a whiteout, I've been to quite a few Oilers vs Yotes games where we've been outnumbered, so I merely ask if you are able to where a white Oilers jersey or gear you would make us all happy.
I hope if you are attending this game you all enjoy and have a great time sending off our boys one last time in Arizona
It would be a touching way for Oilers fans to show solidarity with Coyotes fans during this emotional transition period.
If you can't make it to the game, you can catch all the action live on Sportsnet across Canada starting at 10 p.m. ET. And keep an eye out after the game, as the NHL is expected to officially announce the Coyotes' move to Salt Lake City, Utah, later in the week.
