McAvoy Suspended For Hit On Ekman-Larsson
Late in last night's game between the Panthers and the Bruins, star Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy laid a scary hit on Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
Now on top of getting a five-minute major and an ejection, McAvoy has been suspended for the NHL DOPS.
Boston's Charlie McAvoy has been suspended for four games for an Illegal Check to the Head on Florida's Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
We knew the suspension would be less than five games as McAvoy had the hearing via phone call which is for suspensions less than five games.
Charlie McAvoy will have a phone hearing with @NHLPlayerSafety today following his interference/illegal check to the head on Oliver Ekman-Larsson, which points to a potential suspension of five games or less.
While some may not agree on the length, the NHL is instilling a policy of no head shots which any player can be grateful for.
