Patrice Bergeron retired as a Boston Bruins legend this past summer, but according to reports, he may not be done after all.

Despite putting in an incredible career with the Boston Bruins, he may not be done after all, as the latest episode of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast revealed a surprise rumour.

As always, take this rumour with a grain of salt, but with the Bruins lacking major star power up front and Bergeron reportedly keeping in shape on the ice, it's definitely a possibility.

Bergeron to give Boston a Stanley Cup boost?

Outside of this, there's not many reports to go on, but after putting up 58 points in 73 games a season ago, it's clear that the 38-year old still has some gas left in the tank.

It's unlikely that a return to the top level ever happens for Bergeron on the ice, but he reportedly has some interest as a coach and given the knowledge he acquired over 20-years in the NHL, that could be a viable career path from her on out.

For now though, we will hold out hope that the Bruins legend can make a return, as the team look just as good without him, so if they could add him to this lineup, who knows what could happen come playoff time.
