It looks as though Nazem Kadri may be giving up on the Calgary Flames.

In last night's game against the Blackhawks, two sloppy plays by Kadri, resulted in Chicago's success in erasing the Flames' 2-0 lead.

Kadri Messing Up

The first turnover came with less than a minute to go in the 1st period, as Kadri's failed attempt to clear the puck from his zone allowed Boris Katchouk to recover the puck. Katchouk then passed the puck to Jujhar Khaira, who scored the goal to take a 2-1 lead.

Kadri's second turnover was easily intercepted by Lukas Reichel, who then passed the puck back and worth with Andreas Athanasiou before Athanasiou scored, giving the Blackhawks a 3-2 lead.

"Some of our guys looked like they had flat tires...Turnovers cost us the game for sure," Sutter said in a postgame interview.

While Coach Daryl Sutter didn't directly call out Kadri, it's implied that one of those guys he was referring to was Kadri.

The 32 year old was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2009 NHL Draft. Kadri played 9 seasons with the Leafs before being traded to the Colorado Avalanche, along with Calle Rosen and a 2020 third round pick, in exchange for Tyson Barrie, Alex Kerfoot and a 2020 sixth round pick.

After 3 seasons, Kadri signed a 7 year deal worth $49M with the Flames during free agency last summer.

Kadri sits at 23 goals and 31 assists this season.

Is it possible that Kadri is purposely trying to lose?
