Hurricanes Lose Top-Scorer With Season-Ending Injury
It was broken tonight that Carolina has lost one of their top forwards with what could be a torn ACL. It is likely their season is over.
Canes Lose Svechnikov
Andrei Svechnikov's 55 points in 64 games is good for third on the Hurricanes. He's arguably their best player most nights, and he propels their top-six into a championship-worthy core.
It was announced tonight that, while they are seeking a second opinion, it is likely Svechnikov has a torn ACL.
Hearing Carolina is waiting for a second opinion on Andrei Svechnikov's injury. There's concern it's a torn ACL, which could end his season but the player and the Hurricanes are, understandably, waiting until all options exhausted. Hoping for the best.
Hopefully there are positive updates, but it seems pretty clear that Svechnikov's season is over.
This is tough news for the Canes, who seemed poised for a very deep run.
