It's almost a given that teams will do a few inter-squad scrimmage games during training camp as a way to evaluate players and experiment with different lines before the season starts.
Usually, the outcomes of these games don't mean much. However, this isn't the case for Connor Bedard. During their practice on Sunday, Bedard's team lost the scrimmage, and he wasn't very pleased about it.
His teammates had some nice things to say about his level of competitiveness.
The greatest players don't get to where they are without an intense drive to be the best and to win every situation they are in on the ice. To them, every time they play is an opportunity to improve and to beat someone else.
Bedard is no exception, and this is a good thing. Not only does he have that competitive drive, but he also has the work ethic to match it, which is a recipe for success.
