Chicago Blackhawks claim a 6'6" defenseman off Waivers To Protect Connor Bedard
The Chicago Blackhawks have claimed a 6'6" defenseman off waivers from the Seattle Kraken to protect Connor Bedard and provide defensive depth.
Yesterday, the Seattle Kraken placed defenseman Jaycob Megna on waivers and today, the Blackhawks picked him up.
Blackhawks claim Megna from Seattle
Megna has played in 141 career games with the Ducks, Sharks, and Kraken and will now join his fourth team. The Blackhawks have struggled with injuries so the addition of Megna will help them get deeper.
At 6'6", Megna is a rangy defenseman and has dropped the gloves a few times in his career.
If any team decides to touch rookie phenom Connor Bedard, we can be sure that Megna will intervene and protect the face of his new franchise.
