On Monday night, the Colorado Avalanche and Seattle Kraken met in Seattle to continue their best-of-seven series. The Kraken hoped to even the series, and the game had a major incident when Avalanche's Cale Makar delivered a hit on Jarred McCann from the Kraken.
The hit was deemed questionable, and Makar received a five-minute major penalty. However, upon review by the officials, the penalty was downgraded to a minor.
Makar Becomes Public Enemy In Seattle
Kraken fans were displeased with Makar's hit and expressed their anger by booing him every time he touched the puck for the remainder of the game. Despite this, Jordan Eberle of the Kraken scored the overtime-winning goal, giving the Kraken the last laugh of the night.
Makar will officially be meeting with the department of player safety, and he could very well be facing suspension.
The question is if the DoPS will give Makar any punishment or deem it not as bad as it looked.
