Colorado Avalanche Star Vanishes Overnight with Security Team
A very strange situation has developed with the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Colorado Avalanche. According to reports, star player Valeri Nichushkin was escorted out of a Seattle hotel by a security team in advance of game three against the Kraken, and brought to an airport. No one seems to know or will say where he went, why he had to leave, or when he'll be back.
Colorado will only say he left for "personal reasons." Head coach Jared bednar did say it had nothing to do with any disciplinary action, but declined to comment further. He stressed the absence is indefinite, and he has no idea when Nichushkin will return.
Given everything that has been going on in Nichushkin's home country of Russia, there is plenty of concern online over his whereabouts. Hopefully, we'll receive some answers soon.
