New Information Surfaces in Nichushkin Case: Intoxicated Woman Discovered in Hotel Room
While the Colorado Avalanche have been missing some key players due to injury, one of their missing players, Valeri Nichushkin isn't out because of an injury.
The reason as to why he is out is still a mystery, but more details have come out, and the giant Russian forward may be letting some off-ice drama get in the way of his job.
Nichushkin was escorted out of his hotel in Seattle, but his agent Mark Gandler said it had nothing to do with alcohol or drugs. That may now be false, because of the new details that have emerged.
What Happened ?
Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan came out with news that a woman in his room, Irina Prudnikova, was heavily intoxicated under the influence of alcohol. It was so bad, that the Avs' team doctor called 911 instead of a cab. Reportedly, Prudnikova said a "bad" person stole her passport, and that she shouldn't be here.
We still have no idea why Nichushkin isn't playing, and it's nobody's business to speculate.
In terms of hockey, the Avalanche are up against the wall now against the Kraken, and could use someone like Valeri, who was so crucial to their cup win last year. Hopefully for them, he get can his issue resolved quick.
