Stanley Cup Champion Officially Available for the Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs have many things to do this off-season, but two things are bolstering the blue line and getting cheap players.
They don't have a lot of cap space, and they need to solidify their defensive core.
A perfect candidate has emerged.
Johnson in Toronto?
Avs' Erik Johnson likely won't stay in Colorado.
The defenseman has played 920 games in his career, and it looks like he isn't ready to retire just yet. On July 1st, he'll look for a contract, and the Leafs should try to get him.
"Hearing Colorado likely won't re-sign Erik Johnson.
The veteran defenseman will hit the open market when free agency begins July 1st."
The 35-year-old had an amazing career and earned a great reputation around the League since he was drafted first overall in 2006.
