After two dominant outings, the Dallas Stars fell on Wednesday night to the Edmonton Oilers, but it may ultimately be the least of their worries. During the game, veteran and crucial mid-season acquisition Chris Tanev left the game with a lower body injury following a patented blocked shot.
While he's considered one of the toughest players in the NHL, no one is immune to injury, and now as this series shifts back to Dallas, we may have an intriguing update on his condition.
There was speculation that he left the arena in a walking boot, and on Thursday that was confirmed as the pictures above showed the veteran with the walking boot. The team remain optimistic however that he could return for game five, as he has battled through these types of injuries throughout his career.
If Tanev can't go, it changes the entire complexion of this series for the Dallas Stars, so now the team have a nervous wait until game five to see whether their deadline acquisition will be able to take the ice at 100%, or less than 100% if at all.
