Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving is always looking to improve his roster and could be looking to add a first-line centerman via free agency.

Currently, Vegas Golden Knights center Chandler Stephenson has his future uncertain with no contract in place with Vegas and free agency fast approaching.

Insider David Pagnotta shared the latest on Stephenson and shared which teams could be looking to add his services in free agency.

"Stephenson's camp and the Golden Knights are going to speak in the next week or two and go from there. If he prices himself out of Vegas, like many expect, he'll draw a ton of interest and I suspect teams like Boston, Vancouver, Toronto, Washington, Carolina, Nashville and several others will pick up the phone." - David Pagnotta

While there are five other suitors, the Maple Leafs being listed is quite interesting as they have a few pending free agents like Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi.

Stephenson is established as a solid first-line center and a great second-line center due to his elite defensive game and his ability to score at a high rate. If the Leafs were to trade Mitch Marner, they would have the money to sign Stephenson and then have him play on his wing alongside Auston Matthews providing a similar defensive game to what Marner brought for the Leafs over the recent years.
