Steve Yzerman Extends Key Member of the Red Wings
Steve Yzerman was busy this morning signing another key piece of the Detroit Red Wings.
After not looking like much more than a depth player, Walman has found an incredible groove with Moritz Seider. The offense-first defenseman has made his teammate better, and has earned himself a big contract.
The deal will carry him through the 2025-26 season, and holds an annual average value of $3.4-million. He will expire as an unrestricted free agent.
The Red Wings acquired Walman at last year's trade deadline along with a second-round pick and Oskar Sundqvist from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Nick Leddy.
