Heartbreaking news strikes Vladimir Tarasenko
Devastating news has struck Red Wings' forward Vladimir Tarasenko, as it was revealed his father Andrei, had passed away at age 56.
Tarasenko's father, Andrei, was once the scoring champion in a Russian league, and also competed at the WInter Olympics in 1994.
This is no doubt, absolutely heartbreaking for Vladimir, who just came off signing a new contract with the Detroit Red Wings after winning the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers.
HC Sibir has confirmed this.

56 years old.
Andrei was considered a legend back in Russia. Folllwing his career as a player, he then took on a role as a development coach where he served as a mentor for the younger players at HC Sibir. He assumed that role from 2008 up until his recent death.
Andrei Tarasenko was a legend. After finishing his career as a player, he was a development coach at HC Sibir from 2008 to 2024. He was only 56 years old.
I'll do a post about Petya. A little later.
It's no doubt that Vladimir growing up as a kid received a tremdnous amount of advice and wisdom from his father, and Vladimir is no doubt crushed by this news, as he knows it is thanks to his father that he is the player he is today, fresh off a Stanley Cup win.
No doubt, Andrei will be cheering him on in Detroit, up from the sky.
