The NHL was in dire need of some revamping of its Skills Competition, as the interest has been falling in recent years. To improve it, they called on Connor McDavid to help redesign what skills would be involved in the competition in order to bring it back to its former glory.
They were successful in that, no question about it. Last night's competition was one of the best in recent years. The winner was McDavid himself, which in any other year wouldn't have raised any eyebrows, however, this year it is sparking some controversy online that he might have rigged it for himself.
Not only did McDavid win the competition that he designed, but there is some controversy arising on social media that Auston Matthews actually beat him in the accuracy shooting competition.
McDavid was asked what he was going to do with the money, given that a million bucks is no small amount of cash that he would be leaving with. He said he would be giving some away to his teammates and might even donate some to charity.
Either way, the competition has raised some questions about whether or not McDavid should have come away with the cash. Do you think he tipped the ice in his favour?
