Connor McDavid got brutally crosschecked in the face last night, after the third game against the Vancouver Canucks.

The Canucks managed to stop McDavid from scoring a point for the first time in the playoffs last night in game three. How did they do it? They were all over him. Even if he fired four times at the net, McDavid failed to make a difference in the game. Since the playoffs started, McDavid scored 17 points in 8 games, but when his team needed him the most, he had no response.

Vancouver ended up winning 4-3 despite a big effort from the Oilers in the last few minutes of the third period.

Following the final horn, indicating the end of the game, McDavid was involved in an incident that didn't end well for him.

He struck the Vancouver Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy with a slash behind Arturs Silovs' net, but didn't brace himself for what would come next.

Nikita Zadorov came from behind and crosschecked him in the back. As he leaned forward due to the impact of the hit, Soucy, who had already started his motion, landed a crosscheck right in McDavid's face.

Check out the following videos to see how it happened:

"McJesus got ABUSED at the end of the game 😳"

It's safe to say that the Oilers will surely try to retaliate on Tuesday night, when they face the Canucks for their fourth clash of the series.

Do you think the Edmonton Oilers will force Carson Soucy to drop the gloves in game 4?
