After 30 long years, the Florida Panthers finally won it all in 2024, taking home their first Stanley Cup in dramatic fashion over the loaded Edmonton Oilers. Since that point, they've been celebrating hard with the people of Florida, even with some of their key pieces departing in free agency.
Now, the team will be forced to give up the Cup for the best reasons possible, as the Keeper of the Cup will now take possession of it once more to officially engrave the names of thee Panthers into the iconic trophy.
The team will join the bottom band of Champions on the Stanley Cup, becoming the sixth team down there, and will ultimately stay on the Cup for at least 60 more years.
In the past, this process hasn't happened until after the Stanley Cup has had its day with every player, but with captain Aleksander Barkov heading home to Finland in a few weeks, it will be officially done by then.
This is an incredible achievement and will now go down in history for the Panthers, also making history with the first Evan to be on the Cup following Evan Rodrigues' fantastic performance, and in a matter of days, all their names will be immortalized forever.
