The Montreal Canadiens announced two more players will be out for the remainder of the season, as their injury woes continue to pile on. The announcement came Monday morning, ahead of the team's practice in Brossard
Belzile and Monahan Done for the Season
The Canadiens announced on Twitter this morning that forwards Alex Belzile and Sean Monahan would miss the remaining games this season. Belzile reportedly suffered his injury during Montreal's last match against Carolina.
Monahan's injury doesn't come as a surprise to many, as he's missed a large chunk of the season with an unspecified injury. We now have confirmation that he's undergone surgery for a groin injury, and won't return this season.
As the season comes to an end and the playoff picture is becoming more set, reporter Eric Engels put into perspective the sheer amount of injuries Montreal has suffered this season, which is unmatched by any other team.
Montreal currently sits at 5th last in the league thanks to their unfortunate injury luck, and most fans are more concerned with their draft lottery odds than winning their remaining games.
We hope for speedy recoveries for Monahan and Belzile, and look forward to seeing them in action next season!
