During the game against the Red Wings, Lucas Raymond was involved in a dangerous collision with Matt Murray, which sent him to the infirmary.

Ilya Samsonov was forced to play for a second game in two nights.

Samsonov Makes a Heartfelt Statement About Murray's Injury

After the game, when asked to comment on Murray's injury, the Russian goaltender made the following statement:

"I'm sad. This is hard. Hard for him. Hard for [his] family, yeah, first one, & hard for the team. It's hard for us. It's the third one. We don't know if it's long-term or whatever. The third injury is really hard & I'm so sad about it."

Murray's season was marked by multiple injuries. It started in the first game of the season, when he missed over a month after tearing his adductor.

He came back and was exceptional. In 9 games, he had a 7-0-2 record and an impressive .933 save percentage.

Unfortunately, Murray's winning streak was cut short by a second injury, this time to his ankle, which once again forced him to sit out for an extended period.

For the time being, there's no update on Murray's condition, but it should come in the next few days.

Samsonov will probably play most of the remaining games of the season, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him play in the playoffs if Murray's not back to 100%.
